MAJOR CHANGES


  1. Start Button 


The start button has moved from the bottom left of the screen, to centre left.

If you prefer your icons to appear on the bottom left of the screen, right-click on the task bar and select Taskbar Settings > Taskbar Behaviour > and change taskbar alignment from “Centre” to “Left”.


  1. New features for snap layouts


-To use snap layouts, hover over a window’s maximise button and select the orientation you want.

  1. Android Apps on Windows


The Microsoft Store now includes android apps that were previously only accessible on smartphones, for use on computers.

MINOR CHANGES


  1. Windows 11 attempts to improve the usability of Touchscreens, by adding more space between icons on the Taskbar, and support for gestures.


If your device has a touch screen, to turn on gestures, select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touch > Three- and four-finger touch gestures, and make sure it's turned on. A list of the available gestures and what they do can be found here:

  1. Windows 11 also allows for users to use their computer in “Dark Mode”, which some people may find easier on their eyes. To enable dark mode select Start > Settings > Personalization > Colours > Choose Your Mode. Dark Mode affects everything from the desktop, menus, and applications.
